While CSC and UserVoice will provide training to Grant recipients on the UserVoice platform, launching your online engagement site will demand someone in the applying government/organization to possess the following technical skills: CSS/HTML, JavaScript, and DNS familiarity. CSC understands that the most effective public engagement efforts (online and offline) occur after a deliberate plan/process for using public feedback is established. How will your government/organization utilize public feedback in forming policy solutions? (250 words max)
CSC has learned from consulting on and funding many public engagement projects throughout California that to be legitimate, these efforts must be supported across a governing institution and civil society at large. This often means creating an Advisory/Stakeholder Group made up of internal and external representatives. (Note: If you are a press or non-profit applicant, there must be government representation in this group.)
