New EU Deliberative Poll Set for Late May

Billed as a “deliberative polity-making event”, thousands of Europeans are forecast to participate in “EuroPolis“. The project, which is based on Dr. Jim Fishkin’s Deliberative Poll, will involve telephone surveys of thousands with a preselected, statistically-representative group of  400 Europeans meeting in Brussels on May 29-31.

Chicago Undertaking Participatory Budgeting

First it was Philadelphia, now Chicago is beginning its own participatory budgeting effort. Through the consultation of Josh Lerner from the New School in New York, an alderman in the city has found some budget monies to support a significant project.
