The Board of Common Sense California is pleased to announce the awarding of a $25,000.00 grant to the Threshold 2008 project in San Mateo County. Begun over five years ago by a group of civic leaders, Threshold 2008 has promoted citizen engagement as a means of solving the area’s shortage in affordable housing. More here.

The Common Sense California Board/Advisory Retreat in Los Angeles results in a new task force structure and the addition of two new Board Members. More here.

Thousands of Californians gathered to participate in one of the largest citizen engagement events in the history of the state: CaliforniaSpeaks. Made possible through the work of Common Sense California, Californians met throughout the state to deliberate over the several healthcare reform proposals that are currently before the State Legislature.
